Peter Lynch - Former Fidelity Magellan Stock Fund Manager

One of my favorite videos from Peter Lynch.  Lynch is the famed, former Fidelity Magellan common stock fund manager, chalking up annuals performance returns of nearly 30%.  In the video, Lynch discusses some of his techniques for selecting common stocks:

So what has been going on? I definitely rode the wave from up out of the recession. I had, emphasize had, a lot of oil holdings and I noticed that oil was the hot topic in a lot of stock market conversations. So against my better judgement, I held onto the 'paper gains' and slowly noticed the price of oil declining and refusing to sell my holdings. Well in short, I unloaded a lot of my holdings watching texas crude fall to $45. Anyway lesson learned, I have reallocated my sold holdings to other investments.
